TEMPTATION TAKE TWO: LOS ANGELES DEFEATS PHILADELPHIA 26-25 IN LINGERIE BOWL VIII

Lingerie Bowl VIII held up to all the hype surrounding the game, as the Los Angeles Temptation defeated the Philadelphia Passion 26-25 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Philadelphia set the tone on the opening drive with running back Marirose Roach, utilizing her athleticism and making sure the ball was in her hands early. After a couple of errant throws by Christy Bell, Roach took matters into her own hands, literally, taking a direct snap into the end zone to put Philadelphia up 6-0. The Roach show continued on defense, as a momentum stealing sack by Roach stopped a driving Temptation offense deep in Philadelphia territory.
But the Temptation cured and ailing offense with a productive defense, as Ogom Chijindu interecepted an errant Christy Bell pass and took the ball into the end zone with around 4:00 to play in the half. The conversion was missed, and the game seemed to be heading into halftime all-square. But Marirose Roach was not done asserting her dominance, taking the Passion down the field on the very next possession and running into the end zone to seemingly end the half 12-6.
But the fireworks continued in the last 3:00 of the half. On Los Angeles’ very next possession, quarterback Ashley Salerno solidified her touting as one of the strongest Quarterbacks in the league with a deep pass to put the ball on the Passion’s 5-yard line. A Zipporah Chase touchdown run on the next play put the temptation up 13-12, following a successful conversion, with 2 :48 to play in the half. However, not to be outdone, Philadelphia put the ball in the hands of Roach who did what she had been doing all night, scored. Her third rushing touchdown of the night put the Passion up 19-13, but leaving a little under a minute left on the clock for Los Angeles. Taking advantage of the time afforded to them, Los Angeles’ Ashley Salerno completed another brilliant deep pass to WR Melissa Margulies on their final play of the half that tied the score 19-19 going into the half.
The second half began with more of the same, Marirose Roach, who once again stopped a driving Temptation offense on the 9-yard line with a sack that forced LA into a long fourth down. After an incomplete pass by Salerno, It was the Passion’s turn to try to take control of the game. And control was seemingly taken by, once again, Marirose Roach, who had her fourth rushing touchdown of the game with 8:00 left to play in the second half, putting the Passion up 25-19.
With Salerno struggling in the second half, the Temptation used star running back Zipporah Chase to try and answer Roach’s scoring and move down the field on their next possesion, and it was a smart move. Chase methodically drove the ball down the field, and culminated a brilliant effort with a hard-fought 3-yard run into the end zone with 2:25 left to play. Salerno capped off the drive with a successful conversion sneak, and the Temptation went ahead 26-25.
A last ditch effort by the Passion offense ended in a fourth-down sack of QB Christy bell, and the Temptation were able to run out the clock and earn their second straight LFL bowl victory in one of the most exciting games in LFL history.

LINGERIE FOOTBALL League (LFL) Conference Championships 2011 –

Congratulations to the Philadelphia Passion and the LA Temptation for their hard fought battles on the GRID- IRON last night in Jacksonville, FL.

Western Conference Championship Game

Chicago Bliss started out strong using all of their weapons to include Tasha “The Tank” Pryor and Heather Furr…. Unfortunately, Heather Furr was injured during her QB sneak touchdown and was out of the game having only played 2 minutes.

LA Temptation stormed back down the field with a brilliant run game by Zipporah Chase and a bootleg TD by QB SuperStar Ashley Salerno.

Having lost their star QB, the Bliss showed their dedication and motivation to win with a running game by Tasha Pryor and a QB sneak by Deborah Poles. 14-6 Halftime.

The LA Temptation looked beat going into the locker room; however came out with fire in their souls and an awesome Kick-Off return for a Touchdown by Melissa Margulies. The one point conversion closed the Temptation gap to one; 14-13. The Bliss never recovered and the Temptation scored 25 unanswered points with Ashley Salerno leading the way with a final score of 31-14.

This was a very physical game… I want to send my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery to Lutasha Bradley with a broken arm and Heather Furr with a seriously sprained knee. Get Well Soon Ladies!!!

Eastern Conference Championship Game

Tampa started off with the first TD after an offensive fumble recovery. Fortunately J Philadelphia answered with a run by SuperStar Marirose Roach. After the one-point conversion, Philly went up 7-6.

Philadelphia’s awesome defense shut Tampa down on the goal line and then capitalized with a Touchdown on their next possession. 14-6

Following a negated TD by Marirose Roach, holding call, and a strong Tampa defense, Tampa’s Offense Breezed down the field after halftime and converted the 2-point conversion to tie the game 14-14.

With 1:50 left in the game, Marirose Roach scored her 3rd touchdown. The 1-point conversion attempt failed and there was still 1:50 left on the clock.

Tampa battled their way down to the Passion goal line, but came up short after suffering from poor clock management that resulted in a costly penalty and a QB sack that ended the game.

CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN TO THE PASSION!!!!! LOVE YOU ALL

xoxo

PASSION vs. FANTASY GAME

All I can say is WOW!!!
What a great game last Friday night in Jersey (yes… the Philadelphia Passion Play 30 minutes north in Trenton, NJ). The 4 hour drive and cold weather was definitely worth seeing the ever so lovely and talented ladies of the LFL fight it out on the Gridiron.
My congratulations go to the PASSION !!!! for their well fought win over the Orlando Fantasy final score 35-26. Many at the game said that the game should not have been that close. I will say however that the Orlando Fantasy in their inaugural season have improved greatly over their first game against Tampa in which they only scored 6 points.
I had front row seats to watch our lovely ladies score some impressive touchdowns and make some jaw dropping hits… Yes Jaleesa I’m talking about you.

Now for some Love!!!!
Huge Shout-out and Lots-o-Love to my Passion Girls:

Heather Perez (HP) – Hot, Beautiful and Amazing as usual. I love watching you play.

Jaleesa McCrary - The girl who’s picture I have to put up on my gym wall.…. I’m coming for ya baby J Once I make it on the Charm, it’s on… I saw that hit you put on Tiffani Hardin (as seen here Jaleesa Making the Bodies hit the Floor)… I’m not going to let that happen to me. You were amazing all night… I especially loved your tackle dance. J

Marirose Roach – Ms. MVP…. You get a special spot on my blog for being MVP. I’ll say it here too… You are amazing, it looked like you ran 60 yds, dodging all 7 of the Fantasy’s players, from one side of the field to the other to score a touchdown ( you made my highlight video Highlights and Touchdowns Link)… Great night and congratulations on MVP.
Everyone Else: Thank you for signing my Passion Jersey (and using my Green Marker)
Love you all…. Rest up and get ready for Tampa.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
So… As we get closer to Vegas… I hope everyone got their tickets…. I did!!!
Let’s take a look at the standings. No one has clinched a playoff birth yet.

Eastern Conference
Record
Conference Championship Bound?
Philadelphia Passion
3-0
YES!!! They are going. They have the points and the Wins to go.
Tampa Breeze
2-0
They have to beat the Passion or the Caliente to secure a spot in the Conference Championship. If they lose to both, they are done.
Miami Caliente
2-1
They would need to beat the Breeze to have a chance, but then again their Net Points are really low… Highly doubtful they are going.
Baltimore Charm
1-3
Nope… But hopefully I will help take them next year.
Orlando Fantasy
0-4
Nope

Western Conference
Record
Championship Bound?
Chicago Bliss
3-0
YES!!! Clearly a force to be reckoned with. Chicago Blitz may have been a better name for the team. They are going to the Conference Championship.
Los Angeles Temptation
2-0
Have to beat either the Seduction January 1st  or the Bliss January 7th to go.
San Diego Seduction
2-1
Even if they beat the Temptation and Bliss, they would have to score a bunch of points to go to the Conference Championship. They are 64 points back from 2nd place.
Dallas Desire
0-3
Nope… Final record since their last game was cancelled.
Seattle Mist
0-3
Nope… Same as the Desire no more games this season.

So… Who do you think is going to Vegas? Comment Below.

To Eat or Not to Eat

That is the question.

Everyone is claiming to have the new and improved diet or claiming “diets” don’t work.
All I know is what works for me. I do not have a high metabolism, I’m not one of those girls who can eat whatever they want. I am one of those girls who if it [food] doesn’t taste good or if I have to eat it over and over again, I will stop.
I refuse to starve myself or do anything else that is unhealthy to my body. So I went on  a search to find tools that can help me eat healthier. I applied simple science to my solution. Burn more calories than you eat, and limit your fat intake. Sounds simple, right?  Well, I have some help from a couple good sources.

One of the tools I use, and swear by, is the book “ The Calorie King ® Calorie FAT & Carbohydrate Counter” This book has the nutritional value of pretty much everywhere you eat out, from the local carnival to Outback steakhouse. I paid $8.99 for my copy and has saved me numerous times from making the wrong decision. ISBN 978-1-930448-22-3 or www.calorieking.com

Another tool I found very helpful is the California Tortilla Website Nutritional Calculator. The calculator allows anyone to modify their order.  I can take my Southwestern Chicken Salad and shave off 42% of the calories and 52% of the fat grams by modifying my order.

Yes, it still has that great Cali Tort Taste.

Other items I have learned to love are Lite Blue Cheese Dressing and of course Oscar Meyer Turkey Bacon.... They are great toppings on my Wedge Salad.
